Saudi's Diabeter Center in Al-Ahsa Achieves Guinness World Record
Founded in 2020, the centre holds the record for the largest simultaneous human gathering for diabetes awareness and education.

The Diabeter Center in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, has achieved a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering focused on diabetes awareness and education, bringing together 752 individuals for the cause.
Located in the Al-Ahsa governorate, the Diabeter Center specialises in treating patients with type 1 diabetes, recording significant improvements since its launch in 2020. The centre’s mission includes fully controlling blood sugar levels and improving quality of life for all patients, and thus far they have helped reduce hospitalisation rates for child patients to 1%, far below the global average of 8%. The proportion of diabetes patients with controlled blood sugar in Saudi has also risen from 37% to 70% in just over a year.
The record-breaking event highlights the centre's successful chronic disease management programs, which includes deploying health coaches and case coordinators as well as launching monitoring applications for patients.
