Cairo’s Underground Social to Host ‘Aswat’ Festival February 21st

Cairo’s Underground Social, an arts and media house dedicated to amplifying emerging talents across the SWANA region, is set to launch the first edition of ASWAT festival on February 21st.

Brought in collaboration with Red Amber and the nonprofit organisation Palestine Music Expo, the pop-up festival is bringing a roster of diverse talents from across the region and its diaspora. The lineup is headlined by Tunisian indie-folk band ŸUMA, who will be joined by Egyptian electronic music producers 3Phaz and 200 Shams, alongside folk-pop outfit Luka Wel Bateekh, France-based selector Dafadee3o and Sudanese singer Hiba Elgizouli.

The night will also feature specially curated tunes by Palestine Music Expo, interactive art installations and record shop pop-ups with listening stations, as well as creative vendors selling everything from artworks to designer pieces. There will also be some scrumptious bites with veggie options, courtesy of Ratios Bakery, along with some fun body painting and graffiti sessions with Montana Cans.

The event will take place at Mohamed Ali Royal Club. For ticket bookings and reservations, head to the link in @aswatfestival’s Instagram bio.
