Monochrome Monday: Lush Meadow
This week’s edit follows green into its richest territory, from emerald dressing to malachite details.
Green has spent much of fashion history caught between two worlds. In its brighter forms, it can feel playful; muted into olive or khaki, it becomes almost utilitarian. Lush Meadow occupies neither. Saturated, deep and closer to emerald than grass, it belongs to the family of jewel tones that designers return to when colour needs to carry the same weight as black. It is dramatic without relying on brightness, and luxurious without needing embellishment to prove the point.
That range is particularly visible here. Sara Mrad and Nadine Merabi allow green to take over the entire silhouette, while Abadia gives it the discipline of tailoring. Bottega Veneta and Mandy Saab move the colour into accessories, Karen Wazen takes it towards olive, and L’atelier Nawbar makes the connection literal through malachite. Together, they make a convincing case for green at its most grown-up: not botanical, not earthy, but unapologetically dressed.

There is something inherently ceremonial about emerald, and Sara Mrad leans into it. On the Zumurrud Dress, the saturated green gives the silhouette the presence of a jewel, proving that sometimes colour can do as much work as embellishment.
