Al Sila Marine Festival Returns to Al Dhafra December 4th
This year’s festival will feature 57 competitions, including marine sports, beach games, and traditional activities.
The 4th edition of the Al Sila Marine Festival is set to take place from December 4th to December 8th, 2024, at Al Sila Beach in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra Region. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the event is organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.
This year’s festival will feature 57 competitions, including marine sports, beach games, and traditional activities. Highlights include the Al Sila 43-ft Dhow Race, Barakah Traditional Sailboat Race, Al Sila Sheri Fishing Contest, cycling races, and beach volleyball. There will also be a falconry championship and various running events.
With prize money exceeding AED 4 million, the festival will also showcase heritage competitions, traditional games, and entertainment for all ages, including folk art performances and a traditional market. Local families and emerging businesses will set up stalls, offering heritage products and traditional dishes. A Noukhada Majlis (Captain's Majlis) and stands from sponsors will add to the cultural experience.
