Art Cairo to Bring Region’s Top Contemporary Artworks to GEM


Art Cairo, the leading art fair in the Middle East and North Africa, will hold its sixth edition at the iconic Grand Egyptian Museum from February 8th to the 11th, 2025. The event will begin with an exclusive VIP preview on February 7th.


Building on the success of previous years, the fair continues to cement its place on the global art calendar, offering a platform for both established and emerging talents from across the region. Art Cairo will showcase galleries from a broad array of countries, including Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait. This year, galleries from Morocco and Tunisia will join the fair’s lineup, reflecting its growing inclusivity and regional reach.


“In our 6th edition, we aim to showcase the artistic richness of the Middle East and North Africa to local, regional, and international audiences while energising and supporting Cairo's dynamic art ecosystem,” Mohamed Younis, Founder & Managing Director of Art Cairo, says. “Set against the unique historical and cultural backdrop of the Grand Egyptian Museum, Art Cairo serves not only as a platform for artists but also as an arena for discourse on the exciting artistic ambitions of the region.”


A highlight of the event is the Hiwar Talks Programme, which debuted during the fifth edition featuring prominent figures like Palestinian artist Sliman Mansour. The programme offered rich discussions and insights into the art world, For the sixth edition, Hiwar promises an equally engaging lineup of panels, artist talks, and in-conversations with curators, gallerists, and thought leaders, delving into diverse themes across the arts spectrum.


Beyond the exhibitions, Art Cairo offers an extensive programme for VIPs, collectors, and gallerists, including cultural tours of Cairo and a collector-hosted dinner showcasing an exceptional private collection.
