Art D'Egypte Unveils 'Crafts Re-Imagined' Ahead of October Opening
Glass, copper, mother of pearl, mashrabeya and khayamiya feature in the upcoming exhibition opening on October 23rd.
Art D'Egypte / Culturvator has announced that its upcoming exhibition, 'Crafts Re-Imagined', will open on October 23rd at Beit El Suheimy in Historic Cairo.
The announcement was accompanied by a preview reel offering an early look inside the exhibition space before it opens to the public. Rather than focusing on individual artists, the preview highlights the materials and techniques behind the featured works, tracing their journey from the hands of artisans to their installation within the historic venue.
According to the organisers, the exhibition centres on materials including glass, copper, mother of pearl, mashrabeya and khayamiya, showcasing craft traditions that have been passed down through generations while presenting them in a contemporary exhibition setting.
Located in the heart of Historic Cairo, Beit El Suheimy will host the exhibition as visitors are invited to explore the relationship between traditional craftsmanship and modern artistic expression. The organisers have also invited institutions and organisations interested in partnering with or supporting the initiative to get in touch ahead of the exhibition's opening.
