Diwan Bookstore Hosts Poetry Reading by Gazan Poet Mosab Abu Toha
The session will take place at the bookstore’s Zamalek branch on Wednesday, May 22nd.
Palestinian poet and author Mosab Abu Toha - known for Arabic poetry collections such as 'Tastareeh El Ard Min Kalamena' - will be holding a poetry reading session as well as a book signing at Diwan Bookstore’s Zamalek branch on May 22nd at 6:30 PM. The renowned poet will also engage in a conversation with booktuber and poet Nada El Shibrawy, who published such esteemed works like ‘Laanat’ (‘Curses’) and ‘Gawla Tafseeleyah Fi Kalb Ala Washak El Sokoot’ (‘A Detailed Tour of a Heart About to Fall’). Abu Toha won the Palestine Book Award, in addition to the American Book Award, following the release of his 2022 book ‘Things You May Find Hidden In My Ear’. He also became a finalist for the Walcott Poetry Prize and National Book Critics Circle Award. Some of his other works include ‘Discoveries’, ‘Leaving Childhood Behind’, ‘What is Home?’, ‘Displaced’, ‘Mouth Still Open’, and this year’s latest, ‘Forest of Noise’. The Palestinian author is also the founder of the Edward Said Library, an English-language public library established in Gaza.
