Egyptian Film 'The Brink of Dreams' Selected for Cannes Critics' Week
The documentary tells the story of young Coptic women who start their own theatre troupe.
Egyptian film ‘The Brink of Dreams’ (‘Rafaat Einy El Sama’) has been selected for Cannes Film Festival’s Critics’ Week by three-time Artistic Director of the festival Ava Cahen. The second feature film from directors Nada Riyadh and Ayman El Amir, ‘The Brink of Dreams’ is a documentary about a group of young Coptic women challenging their traditional background with their all-female theatre troupe, embracing their transition into womanhood in the process.
Selected from over 1,000 feature film entries, the film will be screened at Cannes Critics’ Week for its 63rd edition, which will take place from May 15th to the 23rd.
