‘Summer Mix’ Exhibit at Opera Gallery Dubai Spans Generations & Genres
From Murakami and KAWS to Navarro and Tawiah, Summer Mix at Opera Gallery Dubai explores the intersections of style, medium, and generation in a wide-ranging group exhibition.

Opera Gallery Dubai has opened its summer season with 'Summer Mix', a group show that brings together a wide cast of contemporary artists, from internationally recognised names to emerging voices. The exhibition is less about a central theme and more about interplay between styles, mediums, and generations.
Works by Takashi Murakami, KAWS, and Shepard Fairey sit alongside abstract compositions by Adrián Navarro and figurative paintings by George Morton-Clark, Alex Sutcliffe, and Adjei Tawiah. A corten steel sculpture by Pieter Obels adds a sculptural counterpoint, with its curved, weathered form standing in quiet contrast to the more vivid canvases around it. The show leans into these tensions, using contrast as a curatorial tool.
There’s a strong presence of pop culture and street-influenced art, balanced by quieter, more symbolic pieces. Sutcliffe combines traditional painting with digital techniques, while Thomas Dillon’s textured works are anchored by a recurring pair of eyes. The result is a fast-moving exhibition that spans genres without settling into any single narrative.
