Villa Hegra Opens as First Saudi French Cultural Hub in AlUla
Born out of a long-term partnership between the Royal Commission for AlUla and the French Agency for AlUla Development, Villa Hegra is designed to merge AlUla’s heritage with artistic innovation.

Villa Hegra, a landmark Saudi-French cultural institution, has officially opened in AlUla. Established through a partnership between the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) and the French Agency for AlUla Development (AFALULA), the villa will serve as a creative hub for residencies, exhibitions, and cross-cultural exchange.
Conceived as the first Saudi-French creative hub in AlUla, Villa Hegra is designed to merge AlUla’s heritage with artistic innovation, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategies for cultural tourism and sustainable creative sectors.
The facility is structured around co-direction and co-creation between Saudi and French stakeholders. Its programming includes artist residencies that pair Saudi and French creators, youth workshops, and partnerships with French cultural institutions such as the Philharmonie de Paris.
