More than a hundred years ago, an Egyptian man travelled across the region — from Egypt to Turkey, Syria and Palestine, and back — just to work in the art of glassblowing, a craft that was mastered by very few.
Right in the heart of Khan El Khalili lies the shop he opened after he returned, now operated by his grandsons, Karim and Hossam Abdelraouf.
In addition to glassblowing in their grandfather’s distinct style, they recycle all types of glass, transforming them into beads and ornaments that look like nothing you’ve seen before.
