xAI & Humain to Build Large-Scale GPU Data Centre Network in KSA

Saudi Arabia’s newest AI push is aiming for scale: xAI, the US-based frontier AI company founded by Elon Musk, and Humain, a Public Investment Fund company, have agreed to design, build, and operate a network of hyperscale GPU data centres across the Kingdom, anchored by a 500 MW+ flagship site and a nationwide deployment of Grok models. The companies said this represents xAI’s first large-scale compute deployment outside the United States.

Elon Musk, Founder and CEO of xAI, said, “The future of intelligence will be engineered through massive and efficient compute combined with the most advanced AI models. HUMAIN’s capabilities enable us to build that future faster in Saudi Arabia. This collaboration represents the first of its kind partnership to deploy xAI’s Grok across an entire country.” Beyond infrastructure, Grok will also integrate into HUMAIN’s agent platform, HUMAIN ONE.

The announcement coincides with the US Commerce Department authorising exports equivalent to up to 35,000 Nvidia Blackwell chips to two companies in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, naming Humain and Abu Dhabi-based G42. G42 intends to build one of the world’s largest data centre hubs in the UAE, with the first phase, Stargate UAE, targeted to go online in 2026.
