2,490 kg of Seized Food Distributed to Charities in Madinah

A total of 2,490 kilograms of confiscated food items deemed safe for consumption have been delivered to charitable associations in Madinah as part of efforts to reduce food waste.

The initiative forms part of seasonal monitoring campaigns carried out during Ramadan by the Ministry of Environment Water and Agriculture.

Inspection teams have been conducting field monitoring in public markets and slaughterhouses across the Madinah region to verify the quality of agricultural and food products and ensure compliance with health and regulatory standards.

Since the start of the campaign, monitoring teams have conducted 3,554 inspection and guidance tours across markets and slaughterhouses.

During these inspections, 11,854 kilograms of vegetables, fruit, meat, poultry and fish deemed unfit for human consumption were confiscated and destroyed in accordance with environmental and regulatory procedures.
