Abu Dhabi Named Arab Environment Capital 2023 by Arab League
The award follows the announcement by the UAE that 2024 will be the ‘Year of Sustainability’.
The Arab League has designated Abu Dhabi as the Arab Environment Capital of 2023, recognising its commitment to environmental protection and climate action over recent years. The award follows an announcement by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan that 2024 is the Year of Sustainability for the UAE once again, a symbolic announcement conveying that sustainability must, by nature, be consistently pursued.
The designation is a result of collaboration between public and private sector entities, assuring that they share the mission to safeguard the environment, preserving its natural resources, and in doing so enhancing people’s quality of life, both inside and outside the Emirates.
