Ajman Taxis & Limousines Install First Smart Speed Limiters in the UAE

The Ajman Transport Authority has begun installing smart speed limiter devices in taxis and limousines, in the first deployment of this technology in the UAE.
The dynamic devices automatically cap vehicle speeds to the posted limit in each area. Linked to GPS and a smart mapping platform, the system regulates speeds in real time and continuously updates data to a central command centre. The aim is to curb risky driving behaviour and enhance passenger safety by keeping vehicles within designated limits across different zones in the emirate.
The rollout is being implemented in phases, with continuous monitoring to evaluate performance. The initiative forms part of a broader strategy in Ajman to apply technology to improve transport safety and efficiency.
