Alexandria to Display Grand Egyptian Museum Opening on Giant Screens

Alexandria will install 22 large public screens across major locations to broadcast the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum on November 1st, 2025. The initiative aims to allow residents to follow the event from public squares, the Corniche, and central neighbourhoods. According to Governor Ahmed Khaled Hassan Saeed, screens will be placed in key areas including Al Shatby, Raml Station, Saad Zaghloul Garden, Al Manshiya, Safiya Zaghloul, Moharram Bey Bridge, the central island near Carrefour, Smouha Club, Sidi Gaber’s Al Mosheer area, Stanley, Bair Masoud, Al Mandara, and near the Al Agamy district office, among others. The governorate added that promotional material for the ceremony will be displayed on billboards and digital screens along the city’s main roads and thoroughfares. Meanwhile, Bibliotheca Alexandrina announced that it will relay the ceremony live from its Plaza and Conference Centre lecture hall. The main library and conference centre buildings will also be illuminated in gold, accompanied by laser displays to mark the occasion.
