‘Alf Leila W Leila’ is Being Adapted Into an AI-Produced Series
R Films is producing a 15-episode adaptation of ‘Hammal Sisan’ using artificial intelligence tools.
One of the classic tales of ‘Alf Leila W Leila’, aka 'A Thousand and One Nights', is being adapted into a fully AI-produced television series, marking what producers describe as the first project of its kind in the Middle East.
Produced by R Films and directed by Rami Emad, founder of 88 Studio, and Reem Younes, the 15-episode series will centre on ‘Hammal Sisan’, one of the collection’s most widely recognised tales. The adaptation will rely on artificial intelligence across all stages of visual production, including scene composition, character design and the construction of the story’s visual world.
According to the production team, the project blends traditional storytelling with contemporary technological tools to create a new visual interpretation of the narrative.
Despite being produced through AI systems, the series remains supervised by a team of human creatives and technical specialists to ensure the cultural context and identity of the original story are preserved. And hey - Sheherazade would have had an easier time with the Sultan if she had AI to help her too? Something to consider. The series is expected to be released for free streaming on YouTube.
