Sharjah Announces 100-Volume History Project & Kalba Developments

A major historical publishing project titled ‘Al Kawn wa Anasi Kathiran’ has been unveiled in Sharjah, alongside a series of cultural and leisure developments planned for Kalba. The project will comprise around 100 volumes tracing the history of the universe from before the descent of Prophet Adam and documenting the stories of prophets, with a focus on presenting material aligned with the Quran and avoiding unverified interpretations.
The initiative is intended to increase public awareness of religious and world history while encouraging broader understanding of global developments and cultural contexts. The announcement was made during a phone interview on the ‘Direct Line’ programme on the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
Alongside the publishing initiative, several development projects were outlined for Kalba, including the opening of Al Hiyar Lake, which will extend across the Al Hiyar area.
Plans also include the Kalba Heritage Museum, designed as a living museum showcasing traditional arts and crafts in an active format. The project is currently under construction and will feature climate-controlled spaces and a raised restaurant overlooking the site. A Shell Theatre is also planned, with a design that allows visitors to enter from beneath the water.
