Allocation of 18 Clinics To Treat Victims of Gender-Based Violence

The Ministry of Health and Population has launched 18 clinics specialised in treating victims of gender-based violence, in partnership with the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA). The clinics are located in 13 governorates, namely: Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Al Qalyubia, Beni Suef, Al Minya, Sohag, Aswan, Al Gharbia, Al Sharqia, Fayum, Assiut and Dakahlia.

The ministry has trained 340 doctors, nurses and medical staff according to the World Health Organisation’s standards, with more than 1330 medical awareness sessions conducted for those attending primary care units.
