Automatic Degree Recognition Activated for 34 UAE Universities
More than 25,000 graduates have received instant recognition with expansion planned for Emirati scholarship students abroad.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has activated automatic recognition for degrees issued by 34 universities in the United Arab Emirates, allowing graduates to have their qualifications recognised instantly for further study or employment.
In its first phase, the initiative digitally links participating institutions directly to the ministry’s recognition system, eliminating the need for separate recognition requests. The move forms part of broader efforts to reduce administrative procedures across the higher education sector and support zero-bureaucracy government services.
More than 25,000 graduates have already used the service since its launch. The ministry plans to expand automatic recognition to include Emirati students studying abroad under government-supervised scholarships, enabling them to access recognition and related government services remotely.
The system relies on digital verification for degrees issued by ministry-accredited institutions, using an approved QR code that confirms official recognition in line with existing regulations. Electronic tools are also available to verify qualifications issued outside the UAE and generate digital reports for use by relevant authorities.
