Cairo Book Fair Draws Over 3.5 Million Visitors in First Eight Days
Established in 1969, the Cairo International Book Fair is one of the oldest and largest book fairs in the Arab world.
Since opening on January 23rd, the Cairo International Book Fair has drawn over 3.5 million visitors in its first eight days. By Friday, January 31st, attendance had reached 3,565,434, with approximately 796,654 visitors recorded on that day alone.
Established in 1969, the Cairo International Book Fair is one of the oldest and largest book fairs in the Arab world. It was held at the Cairo International Fair Zone in Nasr City from 1984 until 2019, before moving to the Egypt International Exhibitions Centre in New Cairo in 2020. The new venue provides a larger, more modern space to accommodate the growing number of exhibitors and attendees.
Now in its 56th edition, the fair continues to draw publishers, authors, and readers from across the region until February 5th, with a diverse program of literary discussions, book signings and cultural activities.
