Central Bank of Egypt Releases Polymer EGP 10 Banknote

Polymer banknotes have been a long time coming in Egypt, and now the Central Bank of Egypt is finally releasing their new EGP 10 note!

Created through printing stations at the New Administration Capital, the synthetic banknotes will be circulated throughout Egypt's banks without immediately invalidating paper banknotes. The new EGP 10 note in particular was designed with the New Administrative Capital's Al-Fattah Al-Aleem Mosque (Egypt's largest mosque) on one side, and a statue of female pharaoh Hatshepshut on the other.

Polymer banknotes are associated with a wealth of benefits. Banknotes made from polymer have increased longevity, are waterproof, are more easily recyclable, are less susceptible to being ruined by dirt and dust than their paper counterparts, and are more difficult to counterfeit.
