Challenge Sir Bani Yas Returns in 2026 With Expanded Race Programme

The second edition of Challenge Sir Bani Yas will take place on Sir Bani Yas Island in the Al Dhafra Region from January 31st to February 1st, 2026. The triathlon is organised by ADNEC Group, a Modon company, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Challenge Family. It returns following a debut edition earlier in 2025 that attracted more than 3,000 athletes from over 40 nationalities.
Challenge Sir Bani Yas 2026 will again feature multiple race formats. The Long Distance Triathlon includes a 3.8-kilometre swim, a 180-kilometre cycle and a 42.2-kilometre run. The Middle Distance Triathlon comprises a 1.9-kilometre swim, a 96-kilometre bike ride and a 21.1-kilometre run, while the Olympic Distance Triathlon features a 1.5-kilometre swim, a 45-kilometre cycle and a 10-kilometre run.
Accommodation options for athletes will expand in 2026 to include a dedicated cruise ship, Celestyal Discovery, offering cabins, dining facilities and onboard technical support for race equipment. Additional accommodation will remain available in Al Dhanna City. As part of the UAE’s Year of Family 2026, the programme will also introduce Community Races, including short-course swim events and a range of cycling and running distances suitable for different ages and abilities.
Beyond the races, the event will maintain a multi-day festival format, with activities such as wildlife safaris, kayaking, snorkelling and cultural tours on Sir Bani Yas Island, alongside a fan village providing entertainment and services for spectators.
