Dubai Approves AED 3.7 Billion Internal Roads Plan
This large-scale project covers 21 projects in 12 key residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has greenlit an AED 3.7 billion plan to construct 634 KM of internal roads across Dubai over the next five years. This large-scale project, managed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), covers 21 projects in 12 key residential, commercial, and industrial areas to address the city’s rapid urbanization and population growth.
Beginning in 2025, the initiative will introduce roads in Nad Al Sheba 3 and Al Amardi, supporting new housing projects, while Hatta will see further road development. In 2026, 92 KM of roads will be added in Nadd Hessa and Al Awir 1, followed by 45 KM across Al Athbah, Mushrif, and Hatta in 2027. The most extensive phase will take place in 2028, with 284 KM of new roads planned for Al Awir 1, Wadi Al Amardi, and Hind 3, and an additional 200 KM in Hind 4 and Al Yalayis 5 in 2029.
This project aligns with the RTA’s AED 16 billion Main Roads Development Plan, which will add 22 projects to accommodate Dubai’s vehicle growth, which has risen 10% over the past two years.
