Dubai Police Announce 2026 Iftar Cannon Locations

Dubai Police has confirmed the locations of the 2026 iftar cannons across the emirates, with seven fixed sites and one roaming cannon scheduled to rotate through 17 residential and community areas for two days at each stop.
The seven stationary cannons will remain in place throughout Ramadan at Burj Park in Downtown Dubai, Expo City Dubai on Al Wasl Avenue, Damac Hills in Dubailand, Uptown Mirdif near the main mall entrance, Salt Camp on Kite Beach in Jumeirah, Hatta Fort Hotel in Hatta, and Al Khawaneej within the Majlis Al Khawaneej Community.
The roaming cannon will move between neighbourhood hubs including Al Satwa Grand Mosque, Zabeel Park, Al Barsha Pond Park, Nad Al Sheba 1 at Al Ghaf Walk, Dubai Festival City Waterfront, Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai Creek Harbour, and Al Meydan Hotel, forming part of a broader route covering 17 locations across the city.
Known locally as Midfa Al Iftar, the cannon tradition in Dubai dates back to the 1960s, when the sound was used to signal sunset to neighbourhoods within a radius of up to 10 kilometres. Today, Dubai Police operate vintage British-made 25 PDR MK1L cannons. Each cannon is fired twice to mark the beginning of Ramadan and once daily at sunset throughout the Holy Month.
Viewings are free to the public, with blank cartridges used under police supervision. Ramadan in 2026 is expected to begin on or around February 18th, subject to the official moon sighting.
