Dubai World Cup Breaks Guinness World Record With Drone Light Show

The 29th edition of the Dubai World Cup concluded with a Guinness World Record-breaking spectacle at Meydan Racecourse, where 5,983 drones formed the world’s largest aerial LED screen. The record was officially recognised during the event’s closing ceremony, which drew an audience of over 60,000 attendees.

Spanning 20 minutes, the display turned the night sky into a high-tech canvas, combining drone choreography with lasers, pyrotechnics, and sound. The synchronised drones created 3D visuals ranging from galloping horses and the World Cup trophy to portraits of UAE leaders including President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The performance shattered the previous record, also set at the Dubai World Cup in 2023, which used 4,000 drones.
