The first phase of the development will include faculties for arts and literature, science, and business and trade.
The president of Suez University has announced plans for the establishment of a new branch of the public university in South Sinai, with the first phase of the project set to cost EGP 1.3 billion. Spread over 100 acres in the city of Abou Rudeis, the first phase of the higher education institution will establish faculties of arts and literature, science, and business and trade.
The establishment of the university has been split into two phases in order to provide access to the initial faculties as soon as possible. Following the completion of the second phase, the university will cater to a broad spectrum of sectors, including dentistry, pharmacy, engineering, and veterinary medicine, as well as languages and translation, design, and art.
The new university will mark a significant improvement in access to higher education in the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula, which has historically been underdeveloped in terms of post-high school education in the country.
