Egypt-Saudi Bilateral Trade Increases to USD 7.5 Billion in 2024
Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia grew by 26.3% to USD 2.4 billion, while imports rose by 37.8% to USD 5.1 billion.
The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) has reported a 33.9% increase in trade between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, reaching USD 7.5 billion in the first nine months of 2024, compared to USD 5.6 billion during the same period in 2023.
CAPMAS highlighted that Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia grew by 26.3%, totaling USD 2.4 billion, up from USD 1.9 billion in 2023. Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from Saudi Arabia rose by 37.8%, amounting to USD 5.1 billion, compared to USD 3.7 billion last year.
Key Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia during this period included copper and its products (USD 459 million), vegetables and fruits (USD 293 million), ready-made clothing (USD 128 million), electrical appliances (USD 215 million), and iron and its products (USD 167 million).
Top imports from Saudi Arabia included fuel and mineral oils and their distillation products (USD 3.4 billion), plastics and their products (USD 984 million), organic chemical products (USD 208 million), aluminum and its products (USD 158 million), and paper and paper pulp products (USD 81 million).
