Egypt's Chemical Exports Rise 10% To USD 6.849 Billion In First 2025
The top importer of Egypt's chemical exports remained Turkey, with an aggregated value of USD 993 million in 2025.
The General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) reported a 10% increase in Egypt’s chemical exports in the first nine months of 2025 to USD 6.849 billion, up from USD 6.208 billion the past year. The top importer for Egyptian chemicals remained Turkey, at an aggregated value of USD 992.7 million, followed by Italy at USD 937.5 million and Brazil at USD 485.7 million. Regionally, the European Union absorbed 41% of total exports, Arab League countries 22%, non-Arab Asian countries 17%, non-Arab African countries 6%, and the United States 2%. Within the chemical sector, exports of fertilisers rose 9%, plastics and polymers grew 3%, petrochemicals increased 33%, and intermediate chemicals were up 13%. Detergents grew 11%, glass products 14%, and rubber products 4%. Adhesives rose 45% and dry cells increased 75%. To further increase export rates, the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council 2026 plan includes trade missions to African markets, participation in international exhibitions in Europe and the Gulf, and training and specialised services to support companies.
