Egypt’s May Calamawy Stars Alongside Paul Mescal in Gladiator Sequel

Oscar-winning film Gladiator’s sequel will star Egyptian Palestinian actress May Calamawy as the female lead, along with certified heartthrob and Oscar-nominated actor Paul Mescal.

Calamawy is joining the film’s previously announced cast members, which includes Paul Mescal in the titular role, Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn and Connie Nielsen. The actress made headlines in 2022 after her breakout role in Marvel’s Moon Knight, she’s also known for her role in the hit Hulu series ‘Ramy’ (2019).

‘Gladiator 2’ follows the 2000 blockbuster Gladiator, which was nominated for 12 Oscars and scored 5 wins including Best Picture.
