Egyptian Artefacts Repatriated From Ireland's University College Cork

Following President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's visit to Dublin, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced the repatriation of a collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts from Ireland.
The artefacts were in the possession of University College Cork, which initially acquired them between 1920 and 1930. The collection includes a painted wooden coffin with the remains of a mummy inside it, including its teeth, and a set of limestone canopic jars. The coffin belonged to an individual med Hor, who bore the title 'Bearer of the Lotus', while the canopic jars belonged to a priest named Pa-Wer from the 22nd Dynasty of the Late Period, who held the title 'Guardian of the Fields of the God'. Five colourful cartonnage pieces from the Greco-Roman period, traditionally used to keep mummies encased, were also part of the collection.
