Egyptian Banks to Offer Free Services Celebrating Women’s Day

Banks in Egypt will provide a package of free services and products from March 8th, 2026 to March 31st, 2026, marking International Women’s Day under the Central Bank of Egypt’s financial inclusion calendar.

The Central Bank designated the period as the first of six financial inclusion events scheduled throughout 2026. During the window, banks will open accounts free of charge with no minimum balance requirement. They will also issue e-wallets and offer free subscriptions to internet and mobile banking services.

Selected banking service fees will be waived during the initiative. As part of the campaign, banks are permitted to conduct outreach activities outside branch premises to promote financial literacy and inclusion.

They may open accounts without fees or minimum balances, issue prepaid and debit cards, and encourage customers to activate and use mobile wallets.

The measures form part of a broader nationwide effort to widen access to basic financial services and tools during the specified dates, in line with the Central Bank’s financial inclusion framework for 2026.
