Egyptian Footballer Mohamed Elneny Joins Al Jazira Club
Elneny becomes the club’s third summer acquisition, following the signings of Mohamed Atiq and Brazilian left-back Vitor Vargas.
Emirati football club Al Jazira has announced the signing of Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny on a free transfer. Elneny, who recently concluded an eight-year tenure with Arsenal, joins Al Jazira following the expiration of his contract with the English club.
The 32-year-old midfielder, currently leading Egypt’s U23 team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has been instrumental in their campaign, contributing to the victory over Uzbekistan. Despite interest from several Turkish clubs, Elneny chose to return to the Middle East, signing with Al Jazira.
This move comes as Al Jazira seeks to strengthen their squad after an eighth-place finish last season. Elneny becomes the club’s third summer acquisition, following the signings of Mohamed Atiq and Brazilian left-back Vitor Vargas.
