Emirates Extends Flight Suspension Until March 3rd

Emirates Airline has extended its suspension of all flight operations to and from Dubai International Airport until 3:00 PM UAE time on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, marking the third consecutive day of groundings as regional airspace closures continue to ripple across the Middle East.

The suspension, which first came into effect late Saturday night, was initially expected to lift Sunday afternoon before being pushed back twice. The airline cited “multiple regional airspace closures” as the reason for the continued halt, adding that the situation “remains dynamic and is assessed continuously.”

The crisis was triggered by US and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets over the weekend, which prompted Tehran to retaliate and forced several countries across the region to temporarily shut their airspace.

The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority introduced a temporary partial closure of UAE airspace as an “exceptional precautionary measure amid rapidly evolving regional security developments.”

Dubai Airports has since suspended all operations at both Dubai International and Al Maktoum International airports until further notice, urging passengers not to travel to either facility until the situation stabilises.
