Abu Dhabi Records 8,886 Civil Marriage & Will Transactions in Q1

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department recorded 8,886 civil marriage and will transactions during the first quarter of 2026, processed through the Civil Family Court between early January and March 25th.
The total included 4,320 civil marriage contracts for non-Muslims and 4,566 civil wills. Officials said the figures reflect growing demand among foreign residents to complete civil marriage procedures in Abu Dhabi, supported by streamlined services and a modern legal framework governing family matters and asset protection.
The increase in civil wills also points to rising awareness among residents and investors of the importance of formal asset planning and transfer procedures.
Activity was particularly high between February 28th and March 25th, when 2,614 transactions were completed, including 934 marriage contracts and 1,680 wills.
