First Phase of Dammam's Global City Will Open By End Of November
Between Dammam and Qatif near Abu Hadriyah Road the site covers over 600,000 square metres with a 240,000 square metre lake. Phase one investment is SR 200 million rising to more than SR 600 million.
The Eastern Province Mayoralty, in collaboration with a Thai investor, will open the first phase of the Dammam Global City project by the end of November, combining culture, entertainment and commerce in a new development.
According to the mayoralty, phase one will feature pavilions representing 16 countries, an open air theatre with a capacity of approximately 10,000, and a floating restaurant on an artificial lake. The site will also include an open air and electronic games area, water games, and international cuisines representing the participating countries.
The mayoralty said the location between Dammam and Qatif, near the Abu Hadriyah Road, was chosen to facilitate access from across the region. Investment in phase one is approximately SR 200 million, rising to more than SR 600 million upon completion of all phases. The overall project area exceeds 600,000 square metres, including around 240,000 square metres of artificial lake, with surrounding recreational and tourist facilities, international restaurants and open air event spaces.
