Medical Tourism Revenue Rises to USD 8 Million in 2025
The Egypt Healthcare Authority reported around 35,000 international patients from 124 countries in 2025.
Medical tourism revenue in Egypt reached USD 8 million in 2025, marking a 76.67% increase compared to USD 3.7 million in 2024, according to the Egypt Healthcare Authority.
The authority reported providing medical and treatment services to around 35,000 international patients from 124 countries over the year.
Ahmed Elsobky, Chairperson of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, said the sector’s growth is supported by improvements in healthcare services and higher operational standards across its facilities, which have contributed to increasing confidence among international patients.
The authority’s strategy focuses on positioning Egypt as a medical tourism destination under the “In Egypt, We Care” brand, with initiatives aimed at attracting patients through specialised treatment packages aligned with international standards.
Efforts also include the rollout of an integrated digital system to manage the patient journey, alongside plans to expand partnerships with private insurance providers and brokerage firms.
