Former Footballer & Famed Commentator Mimi Al-Sherbiny Passes Away
Al-Sherbiny began his career in football with Al-Masry Club in Cairo, where his talent caught the attention of Egypt's top clubs, Al Ahly and Zamalek.
Renowned sports commentator Mimi Al-Sherbiny has passed away after a battle with illness, as announced by journalist Ahmed Shobeir.
Al-Sherbiny began his career in football with Al-Masry Club in Cairo, where his talent caught the attention of Egypt's top clubs, Al Ahly and Zamalek. Despite Zamalek's strong pursuit, his love for Al Ahly led him to reject their offer. Eventually, Al Ahly scout Abdo Al-Baqal fulfilled his dream of joining the club alongside his teammate Taha Ismail.
The most significant turning point in Al-Sherbiny’s career came in February 1976, marking the start of his legendary journey as one of Egypt’s most prominent football commentators, a role he excelled in throughout his career. Our deepest condolonces to his family and friends.
