The Tecom GoFreelance licence in Dubai costs AED 7,500 per year and supports professionals in education, media, technology, and design, with additional visa options for family members. Similarly, the DMCC FreelanceUAE licence starts at AED 4,000 annually, with packages including visas and establishment cards available. This licence is ideal for professionals in content creation, software development, and modelling.
The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone provides a freelance permit starting at AED 6,100 annually, targeting media and education professionals. Fujairah Creative City offers renewable trade licences starting at AED 10,000 per year, while Sharjah Publishing City charges AED 6,875 annually for a basic freelancer licence.
Long-term residency options like the Green Visa and Golden Visa cater to skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and high earners. The Green Visa offers five-year self-sponsored residency for those earning at least AED 15,000 per month, while the Golden Visa provides a renewable 10-year residency with benefits such as sponsoring family members.
Freelancers must register for VAT if their turnover exceeds AED 375,000 annually. Those planning to expand their business by hiring staff or opening an office must consider converting their freelance licence to a limited liability company.
