Fujairah F3 Power Plant Starts Full Commercial Operations

The Fujairah F3 Independent Power Producer (IPP) plant began full commercial operations on October 27th, 2025. Situated in the Qidfa area of Fujairah, the facility has a capacity of 2.4 gigawatts, making it one of the largest gas-fired power plants in the country.

The plant is expected to supply electricity to around 380,000 homes, while playing a key role in enabling higher integration of renewable energy into the national grid.

Developed by a consortium including Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC), Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), Marubeni Corporation, Mubadala Investment Company, and Hokuriku Electric Power Company, the project utilises Mitsubishi Power’s JAC-class combined cycle gas turbine technology for higher thermal efficiency and reduced emissions. TAQA holds a 40% stake in the project company.
