G42 & Microsoft Launch Responsible AI Foundation in the UAE

G42 and Microsoft have launched the first Responsible AI Foundation in the Middle East, with the goal of establishing ethical AI standards in the region and the Global South.

The initiative includes Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence as a research partner, reinforcing its focus on AI safety, bias mitigation, and the development of analytical tools.

As part of the collaboration, Microsoft has announced the expansion of its AI for Good Lab in Abu Dhabi. G42’s affiliate, Inception, will lead the program, overseeing both research and implementation efforts.

The initiative will work on frameworks to ensure ethical and culturally diverse AI deployment, aiming to address regional challenges through collaboration with NGOs and governments. Researchers at the Abu Dhabi hub are set to begin work in March 2025.
