'Grendizer U' to Be Published in Arabic Under New Manga Arabia Deal
Manga Arabia will publish Arabic versions of major Japanese titles including ‘Grendizer U’, ‘Akari’ and ‘Gin no Kuni’ under a new agreement with HERO’S Inc.

'Grendizer U', the modern reboot of the beloved 1970s mecha classic, is getting an official Arabic release under a new licensing agreement between Manga Arabia and Japanese publisher HERO’S Inc. For many Arab manga and anime fans who grew up on the original 'UFO Robo Grendizer', the announcement marks a long-awaited return of one of the region’s most iconic titles.
Originally created by legendary artist Go Nagai, 'Grendizer' first aired in 1975 and quickly became a household name across the Arab world. The updated 'Grendizer U' retains the spirit of the original while introducing contemporary visuals and storylines.
The deal also includes Arabic editions of 'Akari' and 'Gin no Kuni', adding to Manga Arabia’s growing catalogue of officially licensed Japanese manga. The move aligns with the platform’s goal of expanding access to high-quality manga in Arabic, and delivering stories that resonate with regional readers.
Manga Arabia, part of the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), already publishes Manga Arabia Youth and Manga Arabia Kids in print and digital formats. Its platforms have recorded more than 12 million downloads in over 195 countries, with monthly print distribution surpassing 250,000 copies.
As part of its global strategy, Manga Arabia has also launched Manga International, based in Tokyo, as a step toward deeper collaboration with Japanese publishers and wider availability of licensed Arabic manga content.
