Haramain Railway to Run 3,662 Trips During Ramadan
Over 1.7 million seats will be added on the Haramain line to serve Makkah and Madinah during Ramadan.
The Haramain High Speed Railway will operate more than 3,662 trips during Ramadan 1447 AH, providing over 1.7 million seats to accommodate increased travel between Makkah and Madinah.
Saudi Arabia Railways confirmed that daily services will exceed 100 trips throughout the holy month, with scheduling designed to align with prayer times and peak movement of Umrah performers and visitors. The expanded operations mark a seasonal increase in capacity aimed at facilitating travel between the two holy cities during one of the busiest periods of the year.
The railway operator stated that preparations for Ramadan have been completed under an operational plan focused on boosting capacity and increasing the frequency of services across the network. The service adjustments are intended to respond to heightened passenger flows, particularly during iftar and taraweeh periods.
The Haramain High Speed Railway runs along a 453 kilometre line linking Makkah and Madinah via Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City. Trains operate at speeds of up to 300 kilometres per hour on dedicated high-speed infrastructure.
