Jeddah Ranks Second in Arab World for Quality of Life

Jeddah has emerged as the highest-ranked city in Saudi Arabia and the second in the Arab world in the 2025 Quality of Life Index, securing the 74th spot globally.

The city’s score is credited to investments in infrastructure and public amenities, improvements in safety and healthcare services, and enhancements to coastal and urban landscapes.

Under the umbrella of the Kingdom’s Quality of Life Programme and aligned with Vision 2030, the Jeddah Municipality has delivered a number of landmark projects. These include five integrated waterfronts complete with walking and cycling paths, public plazas, art installations, beach facilities, and piers.

In addition, over 445 parks have been opened across Jeddah’s neighborhoods — including themed green spaces like Al-Saja Park — and Prince Majid Park now covers more than 130,000 sqm with shaded walkways and family recreation zones.

The city has also upgraded pedestrian infrastructure, expanded sidewalks, installed modern lighting, tightened maintenance and waste management operations, and regulated street vendors to improve public health and mobility.

Coastal care has also been a priority: beach cleaning programmes, marine environment preservation efforts, and public awareness campaigns aim to blend urban life with natural scenery.
