Jeddah’s Hayy Jameel to Host Ramadan Market
The creative centre’s event series promises to be a celebration of artistic community.
This Ramadan season, cultural centre Hayy Jameel is opening its doors for 14 nights of food, community, and culture with over 30 participants and collaborators.
Night markets are an important Ramadan tradition, giving people a place to gather, socialise, and celebrate after breaking their fasts. The communal nature of these traditional spaces aligns with Hayy Jameel’s goal of building culture-oriented, connected communities. Throughout the year, this not-for-profit centre gives artists the opportunity to bring their visions to life, acting as an incubator for homegrown creative enterprises and a forum for artistic expression.
It is no surprise, then, that their Ramadan Night Market is a showcase of artistic talent. Those coming to the market to shop can expect to find custom designs and artisanal crafts sold by Jeddah’s community of creative entrepreneurs. Foodies will be able to enjoy a wide array of vendors, including Hayy Residents Aysh Academy, the centre’s baking school, and the newly opened Sofia’s Bistro in Saha. This event series also features interactive workshops, children’s activities, film screenings, games, talks, storytelling, performances, and more – with activities for art lovers of all ages, this is a great place for families to gather and experience Ramadan together.
Ramadan Nights at Hayy Jameel is free and open to the public from 10 PM to 2 AM, Wednesdays to Saturdays throughout the month of Ramadan. Registration is required to attend this event. For further information and to RSVP, check out Hayy Jameel’s website.
