King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Joins IUCN Green List

The King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority has achieved a major environmental milestone by joining the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Green List.
The reserve’s inclusion followed a thorough evaluation by international experts, recognising efforts in ecological protection, resource restoration and local community engagement. The authority’s work in preserving biodiversity was a crucial factor in meeting the Green List’s criteria.
This recognition aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative enhancing the reserve’s profile as a leader in environmental conservation.
Founded in 1948, the IUCN includes over 1,400 members from more than 160 countries. The IUCN Green List is a globally recognised standard for assessing the management of protected areas, ensuring long-term conservation through governance, stakeholder engagement and sustainable development.
