VIP Lounge at Aswan Airport Named in Honour of Dr. Magdi Yacoub
The decision honours Dr. Yacoub’s contributions to heart surgery, including breakthroughs in valve development.
Minister of Civil Aviation Dr. Samah El-Hefny, has officially named the VIP lounge at Aswan International Airport after world-renowned heart surgeon Dr. Magdi Yacoub.
The decision looks to honour Dr. Yacoub’s contributions to heart surgery, including his recent breakthroughs in heart valve development. Dr. Yacoub is famed for his pioneering work in heart and lung surgery, and for founding the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation in Aswan, where patients receive free medical treatments, with a special focus on under-privileged groups and children with heart disease.
As part of this move, Dr. Yacoub’s portraits will also be displayed throughout the airport.
