King Salman Royal Reserve Plants More Than 3000 Seedlings in Jouf
The authority says its initiatives have planted almost 4 million seedlings and rehabilitated 750,000 hectares, while the National Center is cultivating 1 million seedlings in Jouf.
The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority has launched an initiative to plant over 3,000 seedlings in its nursery in the Jouf region, supporting ongoing efforts to protect the environment and expand vegetation cover, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Volunteers from local educational institutions joined the tree-planting campaign, part of the authority’s contribution to the National Greening Season. To date, the authority’s environmental initiatives have included planting nearly 4 million seedlings and rehabilitating 750,000 hectares of degraded land — projects aimed at reviving ecosystems affected by desertification and overgrazing while preserving the Kingdom’s biodiversity.
Meanwhile, the National Centre for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification continues parallel planting efforts across Jouf, cultivating 1 million seedlings of native species adapted to Saudi Arabia’s rangeland environments. Valued for their drought tolerance, grazing benefits, and role in stabilising soil, these plants help combat desertification, support wildlife habitats, and enhance carbon absorption across the region.
