In the Qassim region, phase 16 of the Green Qassim Land initiative has resulted in the planting of over 14,000 trees and seedlings as part of the broader Saudi effort to expand green cover and promote environmental sustainability.
According to the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture’s Qassim branch, around 4 760 trees were planted in Buraidah and surrounding localities. The work also included educational efforts such as agricultural waste‐disposal workshops and the planting of 340 trees across 19 school campuses.
Meanwhile, the ministry reported planting 6,000 seedlings at its own nurseries and distributing 3,780 additional seedlings to citizens and participating entities, reflecting a community-inclusive approach to landscaping efforts.
The initiative forms part of the national and aligns with broader efforts under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 framework to increase vegetative cover, restore degraded lands and improve quality of life through expanded green spaces.
