Paid Parking to Start in Mohamed Bin Zayed City on April 6th
Commercial zones will see paid parking introduced, alongside permit-only rules for nearby residential areas.
Paid parking will be introduced across commercial areas of Mohamed Bin Zayed City starting April 6th, 2026, with secondary parking spaces priced at AED 2 per hour.
The rollout covers commercial sectors ME10 and ME11, as well as areas along the main street within villa zones Z17-01, Z19, Z20 and Z27. Payments can be made through the Darb and TAMM applications, via SMS or through on-site payment machines.
Authorities said the system is intended to regulate parking use, reduce unauthorised parking and improve traffic flow in commercial areas, while facilitating access to nearby shops and services.
Parking in surrounding villa zones will be restricted to permit holders, with the aim of preserving residential privacy and organising parking within neighbourhoods.
The first phase includes 11,030 subsidiary parking spaces distributed across the covered areas, including 6,666 spaces in ME10 and 3,758 in ME11, alongside smaller allocations in nearby villa zones. Dedicated spaces have also been designated for People of Determination.
The system will be activated by Q Mobility under the supervision of the Integrated Transport Centre.
Earlier, authorities also introduced four multi-storey parking facilities across nearby sectors, providing a combined 1,446 parking spaces to support demand in the area.
